Build your presence in the region
is the slogan for Mixer. Why do we say that? We believe that networking is an invaluable skill for any professional. Building a strong network and relationships can lead to new cross-functional opportunities that can add great value to both your business and your own presence.
We asked previous participants what experiences they’ve had from attending Mixer, and what their main reasons are for coming back:
Vegard Myklebust, Blogger and KAM at Tampnet, attended Mixer for the first time in May 2016. He says it’s one of the best networking events he had ever attended, and is looking forward to the next event: “I have attended countless networking events through the years, but Mixer is one of the better. What I like about Mixer is the mixture of the formal and informal setting. I think it’s a relatively formal arena, but with a casual feel. This lowers your shoulders and invites to conversation.”

Another participant, who has attended the event three times, is Sverre Jonassen, Account Manager and 3D print enthusiast at Simplify. He says, “Stavanger is a small town to be living in. Yet, somehow there are still always new people to meet and new ideas to be created. That is what makes Mixer great!”
The more people you network with, the more likely you are to make that important connection you need to take your career, company, or personal experiences to the next level. Because, it’s not just about meeting people, it’s about getting to know people.
Vegard Myklebust follows this up, “I networked and made great connections with several people, professional and personal, that I have taken advantage of in business life – following of the event.”

It’s important to think about how you approach networking, so you can get the most out of your time spent. The goal for these participants was to establish meaningful relationships with new connections. How can you do the same? Christine Lervik, who has attended Mixer twice, says it’s all about the fact that true connection is a two-way street.
With this information from the participants we recommend new attendees to think about how others might benefit from connecting with you. Think about who you can connect your new contacts to? What resources or information’s can you share that will help others in their business or professional life? If you have thought about this, you will feel more confident and the conversations will get much more fruitful.
Christine Lervik continues recommending others to join the event; “I’ve got several new inputs and ideas I took with me, following the Mixer. I really recommend anyone who has an interest in what happens in “the youth brains” in Stavanger to attend. The Mixer event is for those who are interested in meeting new people and connect with them, those who have something they want to share and those who want to listen.”
Build your presence in the region, and join the next Mixer! You’ll network and connect! In addition you’ll get a fantastic pleasant and sociable evening with likeminded people.
